Additional Contributions

Members wishing to make contributions in addition to the SG contributions being made by their employer have a number of options.

Types of contributions

  • Voluntary member contributions (non-concessional contributions) are additional 'after-tax' contributions you choose to make. These can be made via your employer or directly to us, but only if AESuper has your Tax File Number (TFN) on record.

  • Salary sacrifice contributions are classified as employer contributions (concessional contributions) and made from your salary (before employer deducts PAYG tax). These are always sent to us directly by your employer.

It is important to note that only Voluntary member contributions are eligible for the Government Co-Contribution scheme. Provided you qualify, the Government will now contribute $1.50 for every $1 of your personal superannuation up to $1,500.

You can make your own contributions at any time to increase your retirement savings.  Even small contributions could make a big difference to the amount of money you receive in retirement.  AESuper makes it easy for you to make contributions:

    • Payroll deduction – you can arrange for your employer to regularly deduct an agreed amount from your after-tax pay and send it to Australian Enterprise Super each month

    • One-off contributions – you can make a member contribution at any time by cheque, BPay or bank debit

    • Regular bank debit – you can tell your bank, building society or credit union to make regular payments directly to Australian Enterprise Super from your account

    • Salary Sacrifice Contributions – if your employer agrees, you can make regular personal contributions from your pre-tax salary.  Depending on your salary and the amount of the contributions you make, this may also help reduce the amount of income tax you pay.

You can find out more about making personal contributions to your AESuper account by contacting one of our consultants on 1800 555 024.
